1) GYCA PROGRAM OFFICER – SOUTH SECRETARIAT

Gyca currently has an opening for a new Program Officer position to be based in the South Secretariat in Accra Ghana

The Program Officer will be responsible for a range of tasks primarily focused on working with and strengthening the Regional Focal Point (RFP) and National Focal Point (NFP) programs and administering the small grants program. The person will work closely with the staff of the South and North Secretariats along with local, regional, and global partners.

Click here for a full description of the position.

To apply, submit a CV and cover letter to hr@youthaidscoalition.org by November 7, 2008.

2) GYCA REGIONAL FOCAL POINTS

We are excited to announce that the application period for Regional Focal Points is now open! RFPs are absolutely central to GYCA's continued success and we are therefore seeking motivated and dedicated young people who want to help guide GYCA's work over the next two years.

GYCA Regions include:

Latin America
Caribbean
West Africa
East Africa
Central Africa
Southern Africa
Middle East and North Africa
South Asia
Asia Pacific
Eastern Europe and Central Asia
Western Europe
North America

There are a few key changes this year that are explained in the application as well. First, GYCA members will vote for their RFP November 24-December 8. More details about exactly how that voting will take place will come as we approach the voting period. Second, we are piloting a program in which RFPs will serve for two years in order to give them a chance to deepen their connections in the region and develop and carry out a plan for the region. There will be an opportunity to opt out of the position after the first year based on the RFP's preference. Current RFPs who have served for one year are still eligible to apply, but will only be able to serve for one year. More detailed responsibilities are listed in the application form.

Email applications to info@youthaidscoalition.org by WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 5, 2008.

If you have further questions, please be in touch with Andrea Blake (Andrea@youthaidscoalition.org). We look forward to your applications!
